Tillsammans med Karin Victorin och Kalle Westerling på Drag as Art så ordnar vi en stor sommarfest 17 juni på Scala Teatern,
PRESSMEDDELANDE:
I samband med att den internationella teatervetenskapliga organisationen IFTR anordnar en
seminarievecka på Stockholms Universitet i juni, gör vi en festlig helkväll med scenkonst på
Scalateatern den 17 juni. Under kvällen uppträder ett flertal svenska artister, som tillsammans
utgör en eklektisk ensemble av teater-, cirkus-, drag show, burlesk, musik och konstperformance.
Temat för kvällen är ”ikoner” och vi uppmuntrar publiken att komma uppklädda till sina ikoner
och där bästa ikon kommer att utses under kvällen av Bex De La Kex. Det kommer finnas tre
scener, liveakter och livemusik. Kom uppklädd, utklädd, nedklädd, ickeklädd som den Icon du
alltid sett upp till, alltid velat vara eller gör ett statement, ” I am my own Icon”. Då vi även riktar oss
till en internationell publik så är resten av pm på engelska.

A Midsummer Nights Soirée
Come mingle and party with re-awakened Gay Icons from the theatrical past and Queer Icons of
today. Drink champagne and dance, while the midnight sun gives that special heart-red light to
our joyful celebration and devotion to all of the Icons that have shined inspiration into our lives.
Who is your Icon?
Performers will present a “drag” version of their favorite Icon, and we would be delighted if you
come dressed in the image of yours. Drag as Art believes in a commingling of academics,
performers and public, together creating an exciting exchange for all participants.
Drag as Art´s intention with this production is to present performers active in Sweden in an
experimental, creative and magical in-between space where imagination can flow freely. In the
line-up we have daring theatre actors, circus artists, poets, musicians, art performance and drag
queens/kings, channeling their Icons on stage and together with the audience. This is a night
where we, just like Cinderella, can become who we always dreamed of being.
