Fantasistafetten
a living archive of imagination in practice
The Imagination Relay is a film-based conversation series developed as part of The Great Weave.
Across twelve filmed encounters, we explore imagination as a vital human capacity – not only as creativity, but as a way of thinking, sensing, relating and shaping futures.
Each participant receives the “torch of imagination” and passes it on to the next person – creating a relay of voices across disciplines, generations and lived experiences. Together, these conversations form a woven landscape of perspectives on why imagination matters today: personally, socially and professionally.
The interviews move between schools, forests, studios, museums, caves, universities and temporary ritual spaces – from after-school programmes in Hälsingland to the halls of the Swedish History Museum. What connects them is a shared question:
What does imagination make possible – in a time of ecological crisis, technological acceleration and social fragmentation?
The Imagination Relay features conversations with researchers, educators, artists, architects, engineers, activists and cultural leaders, including:
- Pella Thiel – ecopsychologist and activist.
- Ebba Theorell – researcher on children’s play, war play and imagination.
- Helena Skörsemo – teacher working daily with imagination in early education.
