Art as healing – Ecofeminism, medicine, and activism through storytelling art

Ruby Rose is a performing arts collective dedicated to weaving new narratives through feminist performance, ritual, and storytelling. We believe in art as a force of transformation—an alchemical space where past, present, and future entangle, shaping the world to come.

Our work is rooted in ecofeminism, embodiment, and the ancestral threads of myth, with inspiration from the Nornor, the Nordic goddesses of fate who spin, weave, and cut the strands of life. Just as they interlace the fabric of time, we craft performances that merge imagination, activism, and collective becoming. We see artistic practice as a living tapestry—an ongoing weave of voices, materials, and actions that transcend rigid structures and predetermined identities.

Ruby Rose operates as a fluid, borderless network, inviting artists, performers, and creators from diverse backgrounds to collaborate. We work across disciplines—performance, circus, theater, variety, stage design, costume, music, club culture, and festivals—without a fixed artistic director. Instead, we embrace a model where artists invite each other, allowing for organic and intuitive growth.

With Den Stora Väven / The Great Weave, we expand our practice into the realm of deep storytelling, weaving together speculative futures, embodied knowledge, and ancestral wisdom. We create spaces where art becomes both sanctuary and spell, where identities are fluid, and where the unseen threads of connection between people, histories, and possibilities are illuminated.
